Girls Cross Country

The Roncalli girls cross country team is returning this season with strong upperclassmen leadership. Last year’s team was the fastest in school history, and they won the school’s first sectional championship! Leading the Royals this year will be senior Ava Shirley and junior Tessa Mize. Along with their speed, each brings a positive energy and mindset to the team. Both girls hope to make a return to the state series. Seniors Madelyn Kitchens, Ariana Corona and Marygrace Rykowski will help score for the team this season, hoping to attain their final PRs. Mize, Shirley, Kitchens and Rykowski already each hold a place on the fastest Top 20 runners at Roncalli list. Underclassmen standouts include sophomore Ellie Littell and freshmen duo Maggie Shirley and Josephine Clark. They all will help round out the varsity roster this season. With the strong talent on the team, the Royals are looking forward to a great season!
