The Boys Track and Field team opened their season with several outstanding performances:
– 4X400m relay team of Alex Beard, Anthony Litz, Cole Huff and Owen Lewis ran an indoor school record, #4 All Time and state leading time of 3:23.51 en route to a first place finish.
-Beard set a new school record to finish 4th in the 60m
-Zane Blanchette jumped over 20 feet to take 4th in long jump;
Litz placed 6th in the 60HH
-4X200m relay placed 9th Liam Kidwell, Ben Swiezy, Alex Toth, Dylan Guthrie

The Boys Track and Field team continued to show their early season strength at the Fall Creek Qualifier
The 4X800m relay posted the 5th fastest time in the state so far (Jim Buchmeier, Anthony Litz, Owen Lewis, Will Lewis)
The 4X400m relay continued an undefeated season placing 1st (Alex Toth, Ben Swiezy, Sam Smith, Dylan Guthrie)
Dom Nelson placed 5th in the shot
Jake Irwin placed 6th in the shot
TJ Michalak placed 11th in the shot
Irwin’s throw of 48’0” moves him to #9 on the All Time list.

The Boys track and field team had a solid night as many athletes got their first experience competing at the varsity level.
Among many new PRs, the highlights of the meet:
Dom Nelson setting a new PR in the shot put #5 all time 52’3”
4x200m relay of Cole Huff, Ben Swiezy, Alex Toth, Zane Blanchette set a new indoor school record
4X400m relay of Cole Huff, Ben Swiezy, Alex Toth, Sam Smith placing 5th

Fall Creek Pavilion
The Boys Track and Field team had another record breaking meet at the Fall Creek Pavillion HSR Qualifier #3.
Individual results:
Alex Beard, Anthony Litz, Cole Huff and Owen Lewis combined to set a new school record in the 4X200m relay, placing 3rd and posting the 10th fastest time in the state, 1:30.18. The same 4 then came back 20 minutes later to break their own indoor school record in the 4X400m and post the 5th fastest time in the state in that event, 3:23.48. Earlier in the night, Litz set a new PR in the 60HH to place 8th.

The Boys Track and Field team competed at the Fall Creek Pavilion Qualifier #4. Individual results:
4X800m relay placed 4th- Will Lewis, Owen Lewis, Anthony Litz, Jim Buchmeier
Dom Nelson placed 8th in shot put, and Jake Irwin PRd to place 9th in shot.
All four legs of the 4X400m relay set new PRs -Alex Toth, Ben Swiezy, Cole Huff and Sam Smith

Whiteland
A handful of members of the boys track and field team compete with Whiteland over the break. Many of the guys competing in their first high school track meet. The team came away with a handful of place scorers.
Dom Nelson won the shot put
TJ Michalak won the discus and finished 2nd in the shot put
Owen Lewis and Jim Buchmeier went 1-2 in the 400m
Mickey Flynn was 2nd in the 110HH
Anthony Litz was 3rd in the 800m

State Fairgrounds
In the shot put, Dom Nelson placed 14th, 6 inches short of making the final. He was the #1 thrower from Marion County and the #2 thrower from our Regional.
The 4X8 team placed 18th after coming in seeded at #23. Will Lewis, Owen Lewis and Jim Buchmeier all ran season’s bests. Anthony Litz ran a great leg to move us up from 5th to 2nd in our heat.
In the 4X4 Anthony Litz ran a season’t best and the 6th fastest split out of the 96 guys who competed. This indoor season the team set five Indoor School Records and qualified three events to the State Championship

The Boys Track and Field team had another strong meet against Southport. 48 guys set new PRs on the night.

The boys track and field team won the Archdiocesan Championship. The 34 out of 41 Royals competing in the meet scored and the team had 9 individual champions and 4 individual runners-up. Four Royals cracked the All Time Top 10 list.

The Boys Track and Field team had a stellar senior night as they defeated the Cathedral Irish!
On the night the team combined for 63 new PRs. Highlighting the day, Anthony Litz set a new school record in winning the 300IH, 38.88. Litz also won the 110HH in a PR that ranks #7 all time. Litz teamed up with Owen Lewis, Ben Swiezy and Cole Huff to win the 4X4 relay.
Ben Swiezy’s PR in the 300IH moves him to #9 on the All Time list.

The Boys track and field team placed 4th at the 75th annual Marion Relays. Notable Performances:
Anthony Litz was named the Most Outstanding Athlete of the meet.

The Boys Track and Field team had an outstanding performance at the McNulty Invite as they posted state and National elite level performances, placing 4th as a team.
Dom Nelson set a new PR and hit a nationally elite performance to win the shot put (#5 in school history)
Anthony Litz placed 2nd in the 300 hurdles in a nationally elite time
4X4 ran a nationally elite time- #4 all time in school history to place second in an incredibly exciting race (Owen Lewis, Ben Swiezy, Cole Huff, Anthony Litz)
4X1 placed 3rd and ran the all time 3rd fastest time (Alex Beard, Swiezy, Huff and Alex Toth)
