2024-2025 Boys Basketball Schedule

The Varsity boys won the season opener over Jennings County 54-39. Conner Kesler led the team in scoring with 15 points. Noah Schmaltz added 11 points and 5 rebounds. Joe Taylor added 8 points and 9 rebounds. Will Hegwood led the team with 5 assists with 0 turnovers. The boys go on the road this weekend at Heritage Christian and at Shortridge.

The Varsity boys defeated Heritage Christian 59-36. Conner Kesler poured in 21 points for the Royals. Noah Schmaltz added 13. Joe Taylor chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. Will Hegwood controlled the game with 7 assists and 10 rebounds.

The Varsity boys got their third win of the season Saturday afternoon with a 71-59 win over Shortridge.  The Royals had four in double figures with Conner Kesler again leading the team in scoring with 18 points.  Joe Taylor added 15 points and 6 rebounds.  Noah Schmaltz and Will Hegwood each added 10 points.  Hegwood added 7 assists.

The varsity boys pulled out a gritty win Friday night, 45-43 over Decatur Central. Joe Taylor led the Royals with 17 points and 7 rebounds, including the game winning bucket with 4 seconds to go.

The varsity boys moved to 5-0 with a 57-51 win over Perry Meridian. Luke Feldman came off the bench, didn’t miss a shot and led the team in scoring with 16 points. Joe Taylor added 14 points and 8 rebounds.

The varsity boys basketball team beat Bishop Chatard 64-49. Conner Kesler led the team in scoring with 19 points and Noah Schmaltz added 16.

The varsity boys defeated Beech Grove 61-33. The Royals were led in scoring by Joe Taylor with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Conner Kesler chipped in 12 points.

The Varsity Royals traveled to Batesville for two games. In the first game they got a win over Columbus North 59-32. Conner Kesler led the team in scoring with 15 points. Luke Feldman and Joe Taylor each added 11.
The Royals leave Batesville with an 8-1 record after losing a highly contested game to Mt Vernon, 52-40. Conner Kesler leads the team in scoring with 13. Joe Taylor added 10 and 7 rebounds.
Noah Schmaltz had 11 assists on the day.

The Varsity boys won a hard fought game against Triton Central, 48-42. Will Hegwood led the team in scoring with 14 points. Noah Schmaltz added 11. Joe Taylor did his part with 11 rebounds.

The Royals go on the road and lose a tough one to Franklin Central, 39-37. Hats off to the Flashes. Joe Taylor led us with 17 points. Rematch Tuesday in the county tournament, 6:00 at Roncalli.

The Varsity boys avenged an earlier loss to Franklin Central with a win in the first round of the Marion County tournament, 62-59. The boys were down 50-40 early in the 4th quarter but out scored the Flashes 22-9 the rest of the way. The Royals had 4 in double figures; Conner Kesler led the team with 25 points, 21 in the 3rd quarter. Joe Taylor had 12 and 8 rebounds, Luke Greene had 11 and Will Hegwood with 10.

We play at Pike tonight at 6:30.

The varsity boys traveled to Pike for the second round of the Marion County Tournament. They just couldn’t overcome a slow start and eventually lost 57-37. Luke Feldman led the team in scoring with 13.

The varsity boys lost a close one against New Palestine, 64-62. Conner Kesler led the team in scoring with 20. Noah Schmaltz added 15.

The varsity boys go to Center Grove and come home with a 62-45 win. Conner Kesler leads the team with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Joe Taylor adds 14 points and 8 rebounds. Will Hegwood stuffs the stat sheet with 9 points, 9 assists and 6 rebounds.

The varsity boys lost at Greenwood 53-49. Conner Kesler leads the team with 19 points and Will Hegwood added 12.

The varsity boys basketball team lost to Cardinal Ritter 68-64. Conner Kesler had 19 points. Noah Schmaltz had 17.

The varsity boys beat Scecina Memorial 48-32. Luke Feldman leads the team in scoring with 17 points on a perfect 6/6 from the field. Joe Taylor pulled down 11 rebounds and Will Hegwood with 6 assists.

The varsity boys lost to Guerin Catholic 55-46. Joe Taylor led the team with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Senior night is tomorrow vs Lafayette Central Catholic, come out and support Luke Greene, Keegan Rund, Noah Schmaltz and Sydney Kirkhoff.

The Royals had an awesome senior night defeating Lafayette Central Catholic, 64-54. The senior’s led the way with Noah Schmaltz scoring 18 points, Luke Greene adding 12, and Keegan Rund scoring 5. The Royals wrap up their regular season on Friday night at Brebeuf Jesuit.

The varsity boys basketball team traveled to Brebeuf Jesuit Friday night and lost 58-52. Conner Kesler led the team in scoring with 19. Noah Schmaltz added 17. The 14-8 Royals are now gearing up for sectional play at Shelbyville Wednesday night at 6:00.

The varsity boys beat Shelbyville in the first round of the sectional tournament, 69-54. The Royals had 4 in double figures, Noah Schmaltz (18), Joe Taylor (16), Will Hegwood (12) and Luke Baker (10). Conner Kesler added 4 assists and 0 turnovers in the game.

The boys are back on Friday night @ Shelbyville vs Greenwood with tip at 7:30.

The varsity boys defeated Greenwood 44-42 to make it to the sectional championship. Noah Schmaltz leads the team with 12 points. Will Hegwood added 10. Luke Baker had 8 points and 7 rebounds including an offensive rebound that led to the game winning points by Will Hegwood.

Varsity Boys Basketball lost to #2 New Palestine 65-55 in the Sectional Championship. Joe Taylor led the team with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Senior Luke Greene added 12 points on a perfect 5/5 from the field. Will Hegwood added 7 points and 7 assists.
The Royals end the season with a 16-9 record.

The JV Royals started off their season with a 62-45 win over Jennings County. All eight Royals scored with Caleb Maurer leading the way with 18 points. Camyrn Thomas and Mikey Dillon contributed 14 and 10, respectively. JV Royals host Heritage Christian on Thursday night.

The JV Royals scratched and clawed their way to their 2nd win of the season, beating Heritage Christian 39-38. Joey Matis led the team with 10 points. JV Royals are back in action this Saturday in a matinee at Shortridge.

JV Boys moved to 3-0 on the season with a 52-22 win over Shortridge. All eight Royals scored, led by Mikey Dillon with 10 points.

JV Royals suffered their first loss of the season, losing 56-39 to Decatur Central. Nolan Denny led the team in rebounding. JV Royals are back in action Tuesday night at home vs. Perry Meridian.

JV Royals defeated Perry Meridian 54-46. All eight Royals scored. They are back in action Thursday night at Bishop Chatard.

JV Royals fell to 4-2 on the season after losing to Chatard 53-37. They are back in action Saturday night vs. Beech Grove.

JV Boys beat Beech Grove 65-40. They were led in scoring by Reagan Cheesman and Caleb Maurer, both with 18.

The JV Royals left Batesville with a record of 1-1. They were victorious over Columbus North 40-37 and were defeated by Mt. Vernon 43-40. Caleb Maurer led the team in scoring with 33 points on the day. The JV Royals return to action January 3rd at Triton Central.

The JV Royals lost to Triton Central, 46-34. Caleb Maurer led the team in scoring with 13 while Ryder Douglas was the leading rebounder with 5. JV Royals are back in action at home vs. Franklin Central on January 9th.

JV Royals lost to Pike 65-47. Mikey Dillon led the team in scoring with 15 points.

The JV Royals battled but came up short against New Pal, 47-37. Regan Cheesman led all scorers with 14. Mikey Dillon chipped in 9 while Caleb Maurer and Camryn Thomas each added 6.

The JV Boys fell to Center Grove, 60-36. Caleb Maurer led the Royals in scoring with 16, with Jaiden Kuria contributing 6. Ryder Douglas led the team in rebounding.

The JV boys lost a tough one at Greenwood, 55-46. Mikey Dillon dropped 20 and Reagan Cheesman scored 17.

JV Royals were victorious Saturday defeating Ritter, 72-43. All eight Royals scored, led by Caleb Maurer with 18 and Reagan Cheesman and Nolan Denny both with 14.

JV Royals got off to a hot start and led wire-to-wire in a 52-36 win over southside neighbor Southport. Mikey Dillon led all scorers with 13 points. Caleb Maurer and Reagan Cheesman each scored 12.

The JV Royals defeated Scecina Memorial, 50-27. Mikey Dillon led all scorers with 12 points. Nolan Denny added 10, while Reagan Cheesman chipped in 9.

The JV Royals treated the fans to some bonus basketball, defeating Guerin Catholic in overtime, 55-49. Mikey Dillon led all scorers with 22 points. Caleb Maurer, Reagan Cheesman, and Joey Matis added 12, 9, and 7 respectively.

The JV Royals won their final home game of the year defeating a scrappy Lafayette Central Catholic team, 52-43. Reagan Cheesman scored 16 points, with Caleb Maurer adding 14 and Jaiden Kuria, 9.

The JV Royals fell to Brebeuf, 69-50. Eight Royals scored, led by Caleb Maurer with 17 points and Regan Cheesman with 11. The JV Royals finished the season 11-9.

Roncalli boys freshman defeated Crispus Attucks 41-34. The Royals were led in scoring by Dane Burton with 17 points and Lincoln Tredway added 11.

Roncalli freshman defeated Shortridge 49-22.  The Royals were led by Jimmy Kessenich with 7 points and had 12 different players in the scoring column.

Roncalli Freshman defeated Whiteland 32-28. The Royals were led by Lincoln Tredway with 14 points and Jimmy Kessenich added 7.

Freshman Royals defeated Decatur Central 44-19. The Royals were led in scoring by Lincoln Tredway who scored all of his 19 points in the first half including 5 3 point field goals. Dane Burton added 10 points and Jimmy Kessenich added 7.

Royal Freshman defeated Perry Meridian 51-22. The Royals were led in scoring by Dane Burton with 12 points while Lincoln Tredway added 11 and Jimmy Kessenich added 8.

Roncalli Freshman suffered their first loss of the season last night at Cathedral. The final score ended up 38-29. The Royals got some valuable minutes from Mac Taylor off the bench and finished the game with 6 points.

Freshman boys basketball defeated Beech Grove 55-35. The Royals were led in scoring by Dane Burton who finished with 21 points and Lincoln Tredway added 13.

Roncalli FR Boys lost to Franklin Central 45-41. The Royals fought hard but came up short. We were led in scoring by Lincoln Tredway and Dane Burton who both finished with 11 points.

Roncalli Freshman Boys Basketball defeated Indian Creek 36-25. The Royals were led in scoring by Lincon Tredway with 16 points. The Royals are now 8-2 on the season and will take on Pike on Monday, January 13th.

The Freshman Royals were defeated by Pike 40-17 last night.

The Freshman Royals battled hard but came up short 51-42 in double overtime against Bishop Chatard. The Royals were led by Jimmy Kessenich and Lincoln Tredway both scoring 14 points.

Roncalli suffered a loss to Guerin Catholic 43-34. The Royals were led in scoring by Lincoln Tredway with 14 points and Dane Burton added 10 points.

Roncalli freshman were defeated by New Pal 33-30. The Royals were led by Jimmy Kessinich and Dane Burton in scoring who both finished with 10 points.

The Royals lost a tough one last night to Brebeuf Jesuit 35-30. The Royals were led by Dane Burton with 16 points.

Roncalli freshman got a big win at Center Grove 40-31. The Royals were led by Dane Burton with 14 points and Lincoln Tredway added 10.

Roncalli Freshman defeated Greenwood 47-33 on Saturday night. They were led by Jimmy Kessinich with 15 points and Dane Burton added 12.

Freshman Royals defeated Park Tudor Saturday morning 47-37.  The Royals were led in scoring by Dane Burton with 11 points and Lincoln Tredway added 9. 

The Freshman then lost in the second round of the Marion County Tournament to Ben Davis. The Royals finished the season 11-8.
