Sam Vaught and Owen Lewis finished 2nd, with the pair of Will Lewis and Jim Buchmeier close behind in 5th. John Wagner and Zeke Littell completed the scoring in 15th.
Team scores- Pike 12, Roncalli 21, followed by Greenwood, Southport and Ben Davis.
The JV squad finished 2nd. They were led by freshman Luke Senac in 5th, Emmett Burkhardt in 7th, Evan Wright in 14th and Chris Jerry in 15th.

Northview Christian Church
In the 4k Jr/Sr race at Zionsville, Sam Vaught finished 8th against a very strong field. Owen Lewis finished 40th. This group of 5 runners finished 11th of 16 teams. In the Soph/Frosh race, Will Lewis and Jim Buchmeier finished 14th and 23rd leading to a 10th place finish. The Royals finished 11th overall.

Brebeuf Jesuit
Sam Vaught ran a terrific race to finish 2nd and Will Lewis ran the 5th fastest time ever by a sophomore (16:50) to finish 11th and earn All-County honors. Owen Lewis ran a strong race to finish 19th. The Royals placed 5th in the 14 team field, which was the 2nd highest team ever by Roncalli. Luke Senac finished 11th in the freshman race to earn All County honors.

Southport - Clinton Young Elementary
Sam Vaught, Owen Lewis and Jim Buchmeier swept the top 3 spots as the Royals defeated Southport 23-32. Sophomores Thomas Mallers and Evan Wright ran down the Cards 5th runner over the last mile to insure the victory.

Guerin Catholic
The boys team finished 1st in the 10 team field. Sam Vaught won the race in a time of 16:01.9, which is the 2nd fastest time in school history. The strong pack of Owen Lewis, Jim Buchmeier, and Will Lewis placed 4th, 5th, and 6th. Of our 17 runners, 13 set new PR’s.

Shelbyville
The boys team won the Gold Division (15 1A,2A,and 3A schools) of the Golden Bear Invite with a score of 71 points. Sam Vaught finished 2nd (16:05, 2nd fastest of his career) leading a strong pack with Will Lewis (PR of 16:49) finishing 6th, Owen Lewis in 8th (PR of 16:55) and Jim Buchmeier in 15th. The varsity also included huge PR’s from freshmen Luke Senac and Chris Jerry. Joey McCoy also set a new PR in the JV race.

Guerin Catholic
The boys won their first Circle City Conference title with a 1 point win over Guerin Catholic. Sam Vaught (3rd), Will Lewis (5th), Owen Lewis (6th) and Jim Buchmeier (7th) earned 4 of the 8 All-Conference spots. Thomas Mallers finished 27th in the scoring but 1.4 seconds ahead of the next scoring runner to secure the victory.
Freshman Parker Stafford and Eli Simon set new PR’s.

Greensburg
The boys JV team competed in the Greensburg Varsity Invite, placing 10th of 13 teams. Evan Wright led the Royals with a 58th place finish. Cliff Lamarca and Parker Stafford set new PR’s.

at Nike Twilight Meet
Lavern Gibson
The Royals placed 2nd in the Open Red Race of the Nike Twilight Event under the lights. Sam Vaught finished 2nd in 15:54.9 to become the second Royal ever to break 16:00. Will Lewis finished 14th with a new PR of 16:43. Thomas Mallers also set a new PR of 18:16.

Blue River Cross Country Venue, Shelbyville
The Royals move on to the Shelbyville Regional with a 5th place finish. Sam Vaught finished 3rd and Owen Lewis 15th to earn All-Sectional honors. Huge PR’s for Thomas Mallers, Luke Senac, and Chris Jerry.

Blue River Cross Country Venue, Shelbyville
The boys team finished a strong 11th in the 25 team field at Shelbyville. Sam Vaught placed 30th and became the 4th Royal all-time to earn a State Final berth! Will Lewis ran a fantastic race with a time of 16:35, placing him second on the all-time Sophomore list. Jim Buchmeier ran to a new pr of 16:55. Junior Owen Lewis rounded out the great day with a time of 16:58 after getting spiked in the knee early in the race.

Congrats to Sam Vaught for competing in the State Championship. Sam became the 4th Royal to earn a state final berth. He competed well and finished 202nd in the race.
