Girls Bowling
2023-24 Season Review
The 2024 Lady Royals had another amazing season that carried over from their 6th place Semi-State finish last year. They ended their season with a 9-1 record and were crowned the 2024 Circle City Conference Champions! The team continued to perform well at every level of competition, finishing as runner-ups at sectionals, 3rd at regionals, 4th at semi-state. For the first time in school history, a Roncalli bowling team made it to the state finals! The girls finished their season with a 7th place state showing and placed the highest any Roncalli bowling team has ever finished.
Sophomores Alison Holden and Sarah Hofmann led the team this season and were both named to the 2024 Indy South All-Conference Team! Alison kept the ball rolling as she advanced to regionals in the singles competition and came away placing 13th! Alison was also given the 2024 MVP Award for her outstanding performance on the lanes. Sarah also advanced to regionals and came away with a runner up finish! This placement advanced her to semi-state, where she found herself with an 11th place finish! This topped her 23rd place regional finish in 2023. Sarah was also elected as the 2024 Roncalli Mental Attitude Award winner for her level of play both on and off the lanes, and she was given the Leadership Award. Sophomore Claire Meinerding was also recognized at the team banquet with the Sportsmanship Award.
Coach Nikki Bauerle R’98 said, “The entire team bowled well all season, but nothing compares to the sportsmanship the players displayed throughout the season. We are already looking forward to next year!”
