Cheerleading – Winter

THE SPIRIT OF RONCALLI

The Roncalli cheerleaders are looking forward to an exciting season for all athletics and activities! This year’s winter program consists of 37 cheerleaders. There are 14 varsity, 12 junior varsity and 11 freshmen cheerleaders. Tryouts for the current squads were held in October, and they have an inspiring coaching staff this year. The cheerleaders practice at least once a week to prepare for the winter season. They cheer for both girls and boys basketball, which makes for a very busy season! The mission of the Roncalli Cheer Program is to promote school spirit and school advocacy in the dignity and likeliness of Saint John XXIII. They uphold the pride and tradition of what it means to be a Royal. The goal of the cheerleaders is to unify the student body, alumni and fans in being ambassadors of our athletic teams, events, appearances and programs. They actively participate in community projects, fundraisers and school events, and they serve the school community as positive examples and representatives of Roncalli High School.
