Cheerleading – Fall
THE SPIRIT OF RONCALLI-R BLOCK!
Roncalli cheerleaders are looking forward to an exciting season for all athletics and activities! This year’s program consists of 45 cheerleaders, including two male cheerleaders. There are 19 varsity, 14 junior varsity and 12 freshman cheerleaders. Tryouts for the current squads were held in April, and they have an inspiring coaching staff this year. The cheerleaders practice at least three times a week to prepare for the fall season, as well as attending an overnight camp with the Universal Cheerleading Association at Purdue University. The mission of the Roncalli Cheer Program is to promote school spirit and school advocacy in the dignity and likeliness of Saint John XXIII. They uphold the pride and tradition of what it means to be a Royal. The goal of the cheerleaders is to unify the student body, alumni and fans in being ambassadors of our athletic teams, events, appearances and programs. They actively participate in community projects, fundraisers and school events, and they serve the school community as positive examples and representatives of Roncalli High School. Let’s all cheer together to make it an amazing year at Roncalli!
