The Royal wrestlers had an amazing first round at Semi-State going eight for eight, and registering 5 falls. Roncalli held a slim lead going into the second (ticket) round. Four of our eight semi-state qualifiers continued the run in the quarter finals. The Royals finished with 3 semi-state CHAMPS, but Warren and Cathedral had too much firepower.

The Royal wrestling state finalists continued to perform at a high level. First round action started with Peyton Schoettle, Blake Getz, and Braden Getz all winning and advancing to day 2. James Dozier lost and did not make it to placement rounds. 

Day 2 Blake Getz lost 2 close matches and then recorded a big pin for 7th place. Older brother Braden did the same, losing two close matches before rebounding with a dominant win for 7th place. Braden Getz finishes his HS career as a two time state qualifier and state placewinner! 

Peyton Schoettle registered a pin in the quarters and defeated the number 5 ranked wrestler 4-3 in the Semi Finals to advance to the finals. Peyton narrowly defeated undefeated senior Mason Jones 3-2 in the finals to become Roncalli’s 8th STATE CHAMPION!
