2026 Baseball Schedule

The Roncalli Varsity baseball team dropped their season opener to Franklin Community by a score of 7-1. Collin Ash started for the Royals on the mound, throwing 5 1/3 innings. He allowed 3 earned runs, while striking out 5 hitters. Offensively, the Royals had 4 hits with Ash, Luke Roeder, Dominic Cromer, and Kallen Stahley each contributing singles. Ash had the lone run batted in. Gio Ardizzone and Ash each stole 2 bases.

Roncalli Varsity baseball defeated Lutheran 19-2. Gio Ardizzone led the Royals offensively with 3 hits, including a homerun during the first inning. The Royals scored 11 runs during the third inning which included extra base hits from Ash (2), Mikey Dillon, Ardizzone, and Ayden Hartman. Luke Baker also added a homerun to center field. Gavin McGee earned the win for the Royals on the mound throwing 4 innings, allowing 2 runs, while striking out 7. Baker and Dillon each drove in 4 runs for Roncalli. The Royals stole 7 bases as a team, led by Hartman with 2.

Roncalli defeated Southwestern (Hanover) 11-0 in the first game of a double header. Joey Ortman started pitching for the Royals on the mound and throwing four innings, surrendering 2 hits, while striking out 3.  Andrew McHugh pitched the final inning while striking out a pair.  Offensively, the Royal pounded out 12 hits in the game, while stealing 5 bases.  Collin Ash had 2 doubles and a triple, while driving in 4 runs. Ayden Hartman and Luke Baker each added 2 hits including a pair of doubles.  Dominic Cromer and Kallen Stahley added timely hits with each driving in 2 runs. 

In the second game of the double header, the Royals defeated the Rebels 14-0. Collin Ash added 3 more hits, including a triple, and drove in 3 runs.  Gio Ardizzone, Luke Roeder, and Max Kriner each had multiple hits for the Royals in the contest. The Royals stole 9 bases led by Sam Kriner and Ardizzone who each had 2.  Dominic Cromer, Carrington Pitts, Luke Baker, and Ayden Hartman added hits resulting in driving Royal baserunners. Sam Kriner and Tommy LeBeau added base hits for the Royals. 

Roncalli lost a close contest to Columbus North 5-4. The Royals jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first after singles from Gio Ardizzone and Ayden Hartman, followed by a sacrifice bunt from Luke Roeder. Kallen Stahley drove in 2 runs with a single to right field. Other Royals with hits include Luke Baker and Collin Ash. The Royals stole 4 bases on the night, led by Baker (2). On the mound, Ash threw 5 innings, allowing 1 earned run on 4 hits, while striking out 9. Andrew McHugh threw an inning, allowing 1 hit, striking out a pair of hitters.

The Varsity Royals defeated Ben Davis 11-4.  Gavin McGee earned the win for the Royals, throwing 5 innings, striking out 7, while giving up 1 hit. Joey Matis threw 2 innings in relief, striking out 2.  Ayden Hartman and Kallen Stahley each added doubles, with Stahley and Gio Ardizzone adding 2 hits each. Ardizzone drove in 3 Royals. Roncalli stole 7 bases during the contest with Ardizzone and Stahley swiping 2 bases each.

The Royals defeated Scecina Memorial 19-0. Roncalli had 13 hits, with Gio Ardizzone leading the way with 4 that included a double and a grand slam. Collin Ash added 3 hits, Luke Roeder added a triple, and Kale Appleby contributed with a double to drive in a pair of runs. The Royals stole 6 bases. Joey Ortman started on the mound and pitched the first 3 innings striking out 7. Dane Burton tossed the final 2 innings striking out 6. Ortman and Burton combined to allow no hits.

The Varsity Royals defeated Brebeuf Jesuit 12-2. Collin Ash earned the win on the mound, throwing 6 innings, allowing 2 runs, and striking out 4. Offensively, the Royals had 15 hits and 13 stolen bases. Gio Ardizzone had 4 hits, including a triple, driving in 4. Luke Baker had 3 hits, including a pair of doubles. Ash added 2 hits, along with Carrington Pitts. Sam Kriner drove in 2 runs.

The Varsity Royals defeated Brebeuf Jesuit 7-1. Joey Ortman earned the win for the Royals, giving up one hit in four innings. Andrew McHugh threw the final three innings in relief without surrendering a run. The Royals jumped out to an early lead with a homerun by Gio Ardizzone. Ayden Hartman drove in another run to give Roncalli a 2-0 lead. Collin Ash drove in a pair of runs on a 2 hit performance, including a triple.

Roncalli defeated Decatur Central 13-1. Luke Roeder drove in 4 runs, with 3 hits, including a home run. Luke Baker and Gio Ardizzone each added home runs. Gavin McGee pitched 5 innings, striking out 5, allowing 1 run.

Roncalli defeated Greenwood 10-6. Offensively, the Royals were led by Ayden Hartman with 3 hits, including a pair of doubles. Kallen Stahley and Luke Baker each drove in a pair of runs with singles late in the game. Dane Burton started for the Royals on the mound going 4 ⅔ innings, allowing no earned runs while striking out 6. Joey Matis entered the tie game, and threw 1 ⅓ innings in relief to earn the win.

The JV Royals won 19-3 over Franklin Community on the road. Kale Appleby got the win on the mound. The team backed him up with 14 hits in total. Jack Stafford was 2-2 at the plate and added 3 walks in the season opener.

The JV Royals won 18-1 at Ben Davis. Kale Appleby got the win on the mound with 8 strike outs. Jack Kriner led the way at the plate with 3 hits, an RBI and a walk.

JV Royals won 6-4. Phillip Meier got the win on the mound for the Royals while adding a hit and two RBI’s at the plate. Tommy LeBeau provided 2 hits and a run in two at bats.

The JV Royals defeated Brebeuf Jesuit 12-7. Sean Willison got the win on the mound. Jack Stafford led the way at the plate with 2 hits and a RBI.

The JV Royals got the win on the road 9-3 against Brebeuf Jesuit. Kale Appleby got the win on the mound. Appleby and Jack Stafford both added 2 hits, 2 RBI’s and a walk at the plate.

The JV Royals baseball lost 20-4. Phillip Meier allowed only 1 earned run in 3 innings.

The JV Royals Red lost to Lafayette Catholic Central 9-3 in their season opener. Sean Willison pitched 3 innings for the Royals giving up only 1 earned run adding 4 strike outs. Phillip Meier provided the team with a triple and a RBI

The JV Red Royals fell to Mt. Vernon 11-4. David Megregian had a solid outing in his pitching debut striking out 4 of 11 batters faced and allowing one walk. Jaxon Baker added a RBI.

The JV Red Royals defeated Mooresville 11-1. Murphy Goss got the win on the mound with 6 strike outs, while adding 2 hits and 3 RBI’s at the plate. Phillip Meier went 3 for 3 on the night with 3 RBI’s.

The JV Royals won at home against Carmel 11-0. Leading the way was David Megregian with 5 innings pitched allowing 1 hit no runs and no walks. Ray Matis provided 3 RBI’s at the plate.

The JV Royals won 5-2 on the road against Greenwood with Murphy Goss getting the win. He pitched 6 innings giving up 1 run getting 10 strike outs and giving up no walks.
