The boys volleyball team opened their season by winning the Irish Invite at Cathedral. The Royals defeated Ben Davis, Franklin Community and Hamilton Southeastern, while falling to Cathedral. The Royals were led by the trio of Will Vannoy, Eli Berger and Xavier Lawrie who combined for 77 kills on the day. Matthew Dial led the offense with 84 assists. Aiden Hill held down the back row with 34 digs.

The boys volleyball team earned two victories over the weekend, defeating Perry Meridian 25-21, 25-13 and Southport 28-26, 25-16. Will Vannoy was dominant in the matches, having 14 kills and 3 blocks in the two matches. Matthew Dial contributed 51 assists, while Aiden Hill and Josh Staehler combined for 32 digs.

The varsity boys volleyball team won the silver bracket over the weekend. The team defeated Southport and Boone Grove in pool play, while falling to York from Illinois. In bracket play, the Royals defeated St. Xavier from Kentucky and swept Cathedral in the championship match. It was a great weekend all around for the Royals.

The Royals traveled North to Chicago to compete against some of Illinois’ toughest competition. The Royals were champions of the silver bracket. After falling to Belleville East, the Royals won four straight, defeating Glenbard South, St. Charles East, Brothers Rice, and local Fishers. Congratulations Matthew Dial on receiving All Tournament honors. The Royals return for their final home match Tuesday vs. Hamilton Southeastern which is also senior night.
