Shaun Richardson started coaching at Roncalli in 2022, and he had an amazing first year with the Royals! For the first time, they won the Marion County Championship, and the team also won the Sectional and Regional. Coach Richardson led the team to the 2022 3A State Dual Runner-Up.
Coach Richardson spent 19 seasons coaching in Perry Meridian’s wrestling program at a variety of levels, with the last six coming as a high school varsity assistant. In his six varsity coaching seasons at Perry Meridian, the Falcons finished in the state’s top 10 five times, capped by a third-place finish in 2021.
Richardson graduated from Perry Meridian in 1998. He finished as the Indiana High School State Runner-Up in 1998, after winning an individual state title in South Carolina earlier in his high school career. He wrestled at the University of Indianapolis before graduating from Indiana University. Richardson and his wife Melinda have three kids; Lucy, Jack and Will.

Cayden Whitaker began with the Roncalli wrestling program in 2022. He was a two-time wrestling state place-winner at Martinsville High School, capped by a third-place finish in the 160-pound class as a senior in 2016. He also won conference, sectional, regional and semi-state titles as a senior. He went on to wrestle four seasons at the University of Indianapolis. Last season, he served as the broadcast voice for the university’s wrestling team.
Shawn Slaymon started in 2022 with the Roncalli wrestling program. He wrestled at Franklin Central High School and graduated in 2002. After graduation, he went on to study at Purdue University, graduating in 2007 with a bachelor’s in Landscape Architecture. Slaymon started his coaching career with the Whiteland Wrestling Club. He coached there from 2007 through 2018, coaching at all levels. In 2018, he accepted a role with Greenwood Wrestling, coaching all levels from 2018 through 2021.
Slaymon and his wife Jennifer reside in Greenwood with their three children; Lily, Evie and Ty.
Jonah wrestled at North Side High School in Ft. Wayne before graduating in 1997. He went on to wrestle at University of Indianapolis, where he also earned a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership. Jonah also holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Baker College.
Jonah is a USA Wrestling Copper and Bronze Certified Coach who started his coaching career at Avalanche Wrestling Club in Anchorage, AK in 2012. After being there for two years, he moved to Memphis, TN, where he coached at Wave Wrestling Club, Christian Brothers High School, Buzzards Wrestling Club and Memphis University School. In the past ten years, Jonah has coached and worked with multiple wrestlers who have been successful at all levels of wrestling, ranging from youth to World Team members. Jonah is active in the wrestling community, serving on the Board of Directors with the Indiana State Wrestling Association (ISWA), he is a certified IHSAA wrestling official and is the Team Lead for the ISWA Kids National Freestyle and Greco-Roman Teams.
Jonah and his wife Angela R’98 reside in Franklin, IN. Angela is a 1st grade teacher at St. Mark Catholic School, and they have three children; Grace R’24, Jonah Jr. R’27 and Dayne R’29.
