Cheerleading – Winter

Roncalli cheerleaders are once again looking forward to an exciting season for all athletics and activities! This year’s basketball program consists of 35 girls. There are 16 varsity, 11 junior varsity and 8 freshman cheerleaders. Tryouts for the current squads were held in October, and they have one new coaching staff member. The cheerleaders practice in between game days, as they cheer for both boys and girls basketball. They work hard to bring spirit to the stands of all school events and to put together stunts, pyramids, tumbling and dances to entertain the Roncalli community. The mission of the Roncalli Cheer Program is to promote school spirit and school advocacy in the dignity and likeliness of Saint John XXIII. They uphold the pride and tradition of what it means to be a Royal. They actively participate in community projects, fundraisers and school events, and serve the school community as positive examples and representatives of Roncalli High School. These girls have made their focus to support all of the Roncalli community, not just one or two athletic teams. The cheerleaders spend countless hours making signs and trying to find new ways to raise the spirit all throughout the school! Let’s all cheer together to make it an awesome winter at RHS!
