2025-2026 Girls Wrestling

Girls wrestling kicked off their season with a strong showing from our seniors Claire May and Olivia Lemus, both went 5-0 on the day taking home 1st place. Annabelle Rose, Kiera Conlin and Abby McNeil all recorded their first career wins with a fall this weekend. Girls head to Warren Central for the Marion County tourney Saturday.

The girls wrestling team headed to Warren Central on Saturday to wrestle in the Marion County tournament. Results:   

• Claire May: 1st place — 3-0 (2 falls, 1 tech fall): Two-time Champion
• Olivia Lemus: 1st place — 3-0 (2 falls, 1 tech fall)
• Alayna Garnica: finishes one match short of the podium
• Kiera Conlin: 6th place — 1-2 (1 fall)
• Annabelle Rose: 5th place — 3-1 (2 falls)

The girls squad had a good showing at the Ben Davis Invite and everyone is getting better every week. Next competition is Dec 6 at the Monrovia Invitational.

Alayna Garnica (110): 7th, 1-2 with her first fall of her career
Olivia Lemus (115): 1st, 4-0 w/ 2 falls
Kiera Conlin (120): 8th, 1-2 with the fastest fall on the day at 20 seconds
Piper Jackson (125): 8th, 1-3 first competition of the year

The girls squad finally got all 7 on the mat this weekend and took on some tough competition at Monrovia. Girls head to Indian Creek Invite next Saturday.

Roncalli girls hosted Beech Grove for their first ever home dual. Seniors Claire May and Olivia Lemus won by fall along with Sophomore Abby McNeil. The girls squad heads north to Central Noble for the Lady Cougars Invitational Saturday.

Six of our Lady Royal wrestlers competed in the Lady Cougar Invitational.

Girls wrestled in a loaded Beech Grove Holiday Classic Saturday. The team placed 16th out of 48.

Annabelle Rose, just missed placing, 3-2 w/ 3 falls

Girls head to Perry Meridian on Friday for the IHSAA Sectional.

Our two Senior, Claire May 4-0 and Olivia Lemus 3-0, led the way with both placing 1st at the Perry Meridian sectionals. Abby McNeil 3-1, placed 3rd and also advanced to regionals. Annabelle Rose 3-2, placed 5th. While Alayna Garnica, Kiera Conlin and Piper Jackson fell short of moving on, all showed huge improvements from the first time they stepped into the room. 

Those advancing will head to Muncie Central regionals on Saturday.

The girls had three participate at regionals, Claire May, Olivia Lemus, and Abby McNeil. May and Lemus, punched their tickets to state! Claire finished with two falls and Olivia with 3 falls on the day. Both came back in with third place finishes and each went 3-1 on the day. They will wrestle in the IHSAA Girls Wrestling State Finals at Corteva Coliseum on Friday.

Roncalli was represented by two wrestlers at the 2nd IHSAA Girls Wrestling State Finals. Claire May won her first round match by fall. Tough loss in the 2nd round and battled back with two wins by decision for 5th place, going 3-1 on the day. Claire finishes her career as a 4x qualifier, 3x State Placer and 105 career victories. Olivia Lemus lost a close first round match to the eventual runner up. Olivia Lemus finishes her career as a 2x State Qualifier with 50 career victories in just two seasons as a Royal. Both represented Roncalli very well all season and at the State tournament.
